As we enter the 21st century, we are witnessing a dramatic transformation in the world economy, characterized by increasing global interdependence, rapid advances in science and technology, and increasingly intense global competition.image001

In this period of dramatic transformation, higher educational institutions need to provide visionary thinking for people to effectively address various challenges and work to attain economic, political, ecological, cultural, and technological sustainability in a global context.

The EFI was established in 1997 to educate and develop the next generation of leaders in today’s rapidly changing and globalizing economy.

The institute offers an innovative educational program focusing on policy and international issues and aims to transform mid-career professionals into leaders of their respective fields by equipping them with new knowledge, vision and a global perspective.

The EFI also draws from a wealth of research and resources from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Line-Ministries within the Royal Government of Cambodia, the nation’s leading economic think tank, to share world’s unique development experience with the global community.

 

The EFI’s Primary missions are:

  1. Educating the future leadersimage002 in government, business and civic organizations who can effectively meet the challenges of the globalizing world;
  2. Conducting academic research and disseminating the results for the purpose of having a prosperous and peaceful world;
  3. Providing professional services to public, private sector, and organizations to facilitate market mechanisms. 


The EFI Offers:

(1)  Innovative Academic Programs

The EFI offers comprehensive and rigorous academic programs focusing on real-world, policy issues in both the public and private sector. All courses are conducted in Khmer and English in a truly national and international environment.

(2)  Outstanding

The EFI’s faculty possesses a rich blend of national and international, academic, and policy experience, along with a common commitment to excellence in teaching and research.

(3) Diverse Student Composition

Some of students are mid-career professionals with 2-5 years of working experience in government, business, NGOs, media or academia. EFI is linked to the international training institution which further promoting the internationalism of the institute and the creation of a powerful global alumni network.image005

(4) Dynamic Location

The EFI campus is located in Phnom Penh, the heart of Cambodia and its capital. As a strategic hub of South East Asia, Phnom Penh offers an abundance of social and cultural events and a truly dynamic educational experience for students studying in.

(5) Unique Educational Program

To achieve its educational missions, the EFI developed an innovative, policy-oriented educational program tailored specifically for future international leaders in government, business and civic organizations.


The EFI offers a Master’s Degree program, Bachelor’s Degree program, and Non-Degree programs. For detailed information on degree and non-degree programs, please refer to the Academic Programs section.


Students can choose and tailor the program based on their individual, specific interests and professional development needs. The faculty consists of first-rate national and international experts with outstanding policy research and practical experience. Teaching emphasis is placed on analyzing real-world policy issues through in-depth case studies, interactive class discussions, and on-site field projects. In addition to the core faculty, prominent individuals from the government, business, and other research and academic institutions are invited as guest lecturers or visiting scholars

The student body is drawn from a select pool of high-potential government officials, business managers and exceptional students from Cambodia and abroad.

The institute strives to attract students who are actively seeking an international perspective during their course of study. All courses are conducted in Khmer and English in a truly national and international environment.

The institute provides a forum for a rich cross-fertilization of ideas and a valuable international networking opportunity.
